WOO HOO! on Saturday we started a VERY exciting journey up to Leesburg to experience our first coursing. Kenzo was NUTS only watching (like this Grey)
and had even more fun once running! The weather was soso... no rain, but cold wind and mostly cloudy. Therefore the heat of each run kept us watching. it's so interesting to see how different each hound is. Not only the many different breeds we met there. speed enthusiasts - Whippets (how many Besenjis do you see?) a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Whippet Pharaoh Hound and Scottish Deerhound waiting for their turn
some think they are smart and cut corners, others simply follow the bags, some stalk them for a while before running, some don't run, or decide to go elsewhere, and not all are going for a kill! after the official runs were done, we got the chance to practice :) Kenzo ran the whole course (870 yrds) twice and LOVED it! We even let Geisha try, but she wasn't too sure what to do. more surprised, why those white things are leaving and a little scared of the sound the lure made, but she did a good job after all, once she figured it out :) Felicity and her Happy came up to have fun too! as he's a little bigger, I think no one would have thought he would go all the way. OK he slowed down towards the end, but still did a very good job for a non-hound. we met a couple other puppies too :) like this Afghan Hound or those Whippets and we got a prefiew, how Geisha could look in a couple years ;)
