Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and the dogs too! Some play at home,
some in the yard,
 and then in the park...
with a great view of lots of goats :)
 2 of my handsome boys
Of course, we didn't forget to roast a bird ;)
 The holiday season has begun!

Reunion 2012

We had the best weather and a fabulous crowd get together.
Thanks to Jo, Sharyn, Derek & co for organizing all of this!
We got to meet Mavis, Geisha's look alike with blue eyes. Her mom is Party and they share the same daddy in Blue. Unfortunately was Geisha too busy doing anything else than posing for a picture... Maybe next year :)
I always get jealous of those who have lap dogs. Especially when they look as cute as Sterling the wiggie.
This year Geisha learned something new from Kenzo: how to be the fun police... a habit she could have lived without! Sorry to all that got stopped from running around and having fun.
He still has a sweet side too. It was cute seeing Brie trying to start a flirt with Kenzo. I should have been more on my toes and get a good picture of them...
Most boys were constantly checking for treats instead.
Kenzo bonding with Char after he successfully convinced her to give him all snacks she had left :)
We had a great time enjoying chats,
all dogs, learning more about dog dancing from Beth and Whisper
and winning something at the raffle at the end, when pretty much every dog was wiped out :)
Can't wait till next year!!! We'll be there!

September

Pretty crazy busy month!
Geisha was creative with her beds...
I had to go to a training class to our headquarters in Broomfield CO. Very interesting!!! Class, people, landscape and warmer than expected :) This is the view from the company campus towards Denver:
My parents came over to visit. I'm so glad they enjoyed their time with us!
We went shopping on the rainy day, sight seeing to Jefferson's home
and Colonial Williamsburg,
the palace
Geisha thought she could catch a Squirrel while on the leash :)
we showed them what lure coursing is,
mom took care of the garden around the house a bit and my dad had fun playing golf (not only in our yard).
Thanks for coming! Hope to see you soon!

Agility

To keep the dogs active, we played around with a tiny agility course in the yard. I think, Kenzo had been missing it! Geisha tried to convince me that she had forgotten everything we learned so far... except the start. Quite the opposite of lure coursing I'd say. With a bit patience we will get there again :)

Helping in the yard

The last tree that had to go back from the storm at the end of June came down + the dogs tried to help clean up the wood...
While Geisha took the biggest piece she could lift,
Kenzo was happy enough with the toothpick version :)

I'm soooo lazy

Sorry about that!
I get to update the home version not too often, but more often than this one.
Geisha doesn't show a lot of concern about it. She's deep in thought...
To see,
or not to see.
Was that the question?

Lure Coursing

She wants to run anytime, but not when she's supposed to - LOL Geisha's starts aren't consistent yet, but Kenzo had a great time in Williamsburg and took 2nd place! It was a very rainy Sunday though...
Last weekend we were on a different field close to Leesburg. Kenzo did very nice again, but not good enough to get in the ranking. That's OK. Fun is more important and he sure had some!!!
Geisha was entered in the single stake. I thought to take some pressure off her by not having competitors, but it didn't really help... Start #1
but a really nice finish!!!
then start #2 - me already giving up hope
she did run at the end + was almost not to slow down :)
and this is her in "action"

Happy Easter + Updates

Finally I got to put a couple updates with many pictures on Kenzo's Austrian Blog (click HERE), but forgot to even whish y'all a very Happy Easter! Hopefully, this little cute bunny will make up for me being late...
What else happened the past couple month:
We closed on our house - woohoo!
The dogs LOVE the yard! So much to sniff, explore + munch :)
We went to our first lure coursing this year. It was AKC sponsored, so Geisha needed to be qualified. No problem with Kenzo as partner. Then she had the weirdest trial: She must have remembered her colission from the trial last year and didn't really start, but waited until the lure came around again and had her part of the fun then.
Geisha managed to get her CGC, but almost messed up because she was very convinced to never ever hearing "down" before...
Last week we received an envelope from the AKC. Assuming it's Geisha's CGC certificate I was really surprised getting a title cert. for Kenzo! He got his SC (senior courser) at the last trial. And this easter weekend we finished his Rally Excellent title :) It was fun!
Next is another lure coursing in Williamsburg coming up (4/21 practice to remind Geisha she needs to start + 4/22 we trial again).
