and Geisha turns 1 1/2

recently spayed (one of the brithday gifts for Kenzo) she could only be on leash in the park, so why not testing her focus on a little stacking exercise...

Happy Birthday Kenzo!!!

Our boy turned 4 today :) It was a wonderful sunny day! We had a relaxing morning on the couch, the dogs enjoyed turkey neck for lunch and then we headed for some fun in the park: impressive dance moves racing to the ball
being a bit funny can't hurt ;) and relaxing in the sunlight
We hope all his siblings had a likely fun day!

this weekend

we moved from the comfy couch onto the exciting race field :)
Geisha got ASFA certified on Saturday (part of the run video - in yellow) and we decided to enter both the next day as the weather forecast looked promising. After a fabulous 1st run (video for Part1 + Part2 in pink), the newbie got hit and fell at the first turn in run 2. A bit confused what just happened she didn't follow right away, visited the judge and would have come back, but the lure and the 2 competitors came around and immediately she picked up again. I was very glad she did this and finished with a lot of enthusiasm :) Kenzo had an OK 1st and a solid 2nd run in yellow. (video Part1) Unfortunately our running mate caught the bags in the first run... Kenzo made a death-roll when he came there and ended up completely tangled in the stopped lure and bags. A re-start followed (video Part2). In run 2, he was the one who stopped the run with a catch (same spot) and another re-start :) It seamed like it wasn't the best day for us, so we didn't take any chances and forfeited for a 4th place.

OH NO

we squeezed and tried, but to be honest... I grew up a bit & my beloved cow-snugglie doesn't fit anylonger :(
at the reunion someone else could use it though :)

Responsible Dog Ownership Day Harrisonburg

We were really lucky that it was only cloudy and didn't rain. Many found their way to the Rockingham County Fairground to get to know some sports, socialize their dogs, have some fun in various competitions and meet a couple breeds. Best thing: Sharyn was there with my baby's momma Juliet and lovely Siren :)

As we were in Harrisonburg already, we decided to do some more agility training aterwards: even Geisha remembers some things from training

the princess and the pea

Her Highness leaves the attendant behind :)

Her 1st Show

Last week Geisha started her first season... We still decided to start her in her fist conformation event (Skyline KC) + both days she got promising looks from the judges! We have to step up our training in stacking and not to greet nice people (she's just too friendly), as well her ears need some attention. She did a nice job on the move! here with 1/2 sister Siren
and I have to pay more attention, especially where the one in front of me is... Both days we got a Reserve Winners Bitch :) and another Timbreblue (Ashley) went BOB both days AND competed excellent in Rally to earn her Title!

Kenzo had a bit more going on.
1st weekend in Rally Advanced, both time a leg earned. I didn't like Saturday's performance. I was a bit too stressed/nervous and he felt it. So the attention was not as usual. Sunday was way better. It's not only the dog who has to get used to trials :)
In Obedience we finished the CD with another 1st place! Sunday we still started in the same class so I could try to walk faster. Not sure if that went better. In the free heeling pattern he started sneezing in the 2nd half, so I lost him + when the exercise was finished and I looked around, I didn't see him. A gentle touch on my RIGHT hand let me know where HE ended... LOL
All our judges were very nice and a pleasure to work with.

Happy 1st Birthday Geisha

Our favorite little phantom turns 1 today :) Happy Birthday to all of her 11 siblings! Thank you mama Juliet for giving birth to our beloved backyard-racing-queen! Thanks to Walt & Sharyn for taking such excellent care of our girl and trusting us to continue this. She thinks she's really strong now and loves playing with Kenzo, especially mouth-wars ;) A very pretty girl, soon to enter her first show (Fishersville).
I think she had a great birthday with lots of fun...

Manassas

exhausting weekend!!!
Close to Washington we had 2 days of Rally and Conformation fun. Both days the exact same results! In Rally we had perfect scores of 100 (the only ones of all classes). That way we didn't only win, we got 2 more legs and therefore the RN-title! WooHoo!
Conformation was on the other side of the board... 3rd of 3 ;) That's OK. The competition was really handsome!
We met lots of people + there was always someone willing to hold Geisha while I was in the ring, as Martin had left us for this weekend to have some excitement on his own a bit further south...

Our Dude couldn't resist and sneaked outside to enjoy some grass under the supervision of Geisha, who joined in and grazed too :)

Last but not least: who can find the dog in this picture?

sunshine :)

we had really bad weather yesterday, but this mornings sun makes up for everything... Queens of sunshine wondering where Kenzo is? on his favourite couch of course: he would bathe in the sun too, if she would shine on there...
